Why Liverpool vs AC Milan isn’t on TNT Sports as Champions League TV schedule explained

Champions League Boost: Amazon Prime Snatches Exclusive Rights for Liverpool-AC Milan Clash

It’s official – Amazon Prime Video has landed the rights to broadcast Liverpool’s mouth-watering Champions League showdown against AC Milan at the San Siro stadium next week. The English champions will make their long-awaited return to the competition after a season in the Europa League, and Prime viewers will be treated to live coverage of the tie on Tuesday night.

For the first time in nearly a decade, the game will not be shown live on TNT Sports, as part of a new broadcast agreement between UEFA and Amazon Prime Video. The streaming giants have secured exclusive rights to broadcast 17 Champions League matches this season, picking one match every Tuesday to showcase on their platform.

The deal gives Amazon the flexibility to select high-stakes matches, and for their first outing, they’ve opted for Liverpool’s highly anticipated clash against the Italian giants. In doing so, they’ve prioritized a thrilling tie between two of Europe’s powerhouses over Aston Villa’s return to the competition and Real Madrid’s match against Stuttgart.

"The addition of UEFA Champions League football is a truly momentous moment for Prime Video in the UK," said Alex Green, managing director of Prime Video Sport Europe. Amazon Prime has also selected four other games to be shown on the platform in the coming weeks, including matches featuring Premier League clubs.

Arsenal’s home games against Paris Saint-Germain and Shakhtar Donetsk will both be shown live on Prime, as well as Liverpool’s match against Xabi Alonso’s Beyer Leverkusen and Manchester City’s clash with Feyenoord. More matches will be announced later, but for now, Amazon Prime subscribers are in for a treat.

If you’re not already signed up for Amazon Prime, be sure to take advantage of their 30-day free trial to catch all the Champions League action.
