AJ loves to pick Ronaldo’s brain at boxing events and says it’s saved thousands

Anthony Joshua Reveals His Love for Picking Cristiano Ronaldo’s Brain at Boxing Events

Anthony Joshua has opened up about his admiration for Cristiano Ronaldo, revealing that he loves to pick the football superstar’s brain at boxing events. The British boxer sat next to Ronaldo during Oleksandr Usyk’s fight with Tyson Fury in May, and Joshua has admitted that he takes every opportunity to learn from the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.

"I’ve never been a person who is caught up in the superstar thing," Joshua said. "I just look at the character of people. When I learn about their character, I take it back to my community. Rather than just be in awe of these people, who everybody admires, I try to tap into their minds and psyches and learn how they got to where they are."

Joshua believes that he could have paid "thousands of pounds" for a consultation with people like Ronaldo, who is known for his incredible work ethic and dedication to his craft. "These people could charge thousands of pounds for meetings — imagine how much a Cristiano Ronaldo consultation would cost," Joshua said. "So when I’m ringside with him, I use the chance to pick his brain."

Joshua’s love for learning from others is a key part of his approach to boxing. The 34-year-old has been in fine form of late, winning his last four fights since suffering back-to-back defeats to Usyk. He will face Daniel Dubois in an all-British bout at Wembley Stadium on Saturday, and Joshua is confident that he can continue his winning streak.

"I’m more of a short-term dreamer," Joshua said. "I approach every week thinking, ‘What can I achieve this week?’ So I’m not looking for undisputed. I’m looking at this week, then the next."

Joshua’s next fight will be a crucial test of his abilities, and he will need to be at the top of his game if he is to emerge victorious. But with his passion for learning and his dedication to his craft, Joshua is well-equipped to handle whatever challenges come his way.
