Harry Kane aims to replicate Cristiano Ronaldo longevity as he prepares for 100th England cap

Kane Aims to Keep Scoring and Playing for Years to Come, Inspired by Ronaldo’s Relentless Goal-Scoring

Harry Kane is set to make his 100th appearance for England in a Nations League game against Finland on Tuesday, and the captain is feeling inspired by the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo. Kane, now 31, received criticism for his performances in this summer’s Euros, but the Bayern Munich striker is determined to continue playing and scoring at the highest level for years to come.

"I feel in really good shape, physically and mentally at a peak in my career," Kane said. "Watching Ronaldo score his 901st goal aged 39 inspires me to play for as long as possible. I love representing England more than anything and I don’t want it to end any time soon."

Kane praised Ronaldo’s relentless goal-scoring and determination, saying: "It’s just about continuing to improve and be consistent. Who knows how many caps or goals I can get but I’m hungry for more."

The England captain also expressed his admiration for Lionel Messi, saying: "Both of them were inspirations to me. To have that hunger and desire and determination and the sense to keep proving people wrong and prove to yourself you can be the best you can be…"

Kane’s Future

Kane has already captained England 72 times and has played 81 games under Gareth Southgate, 16 under Roy Hodgson, and one each under Sam Allardyce and Lee Carsley. When asked about his future, Kane said he feels he can continue to play any role demanded of him, whether it’s as a striker or a player who drops deep.

"It depends on circumstance, managers, systems," Kane said. "I’ve always been someone who can play high or drop deep. I’ve got enough of an all-round game to be effective in both areas."

England’s 100-Club

Kane will be the 10th player to reach 100 England caps and the first since Wayne Rooney a decade ago. Other centurions include Peter Shilton, David Beckham, Steven Gerrard, Bobby Moore, Ashley Cole, Sir Bobby Charlton, Frank Lampard, and Billy Wright.

What’s Next?

As Kane prepares to make his 100th appearance for England, he’ll be looking to inspire his teammates and fans alike. With his hunger for more goals and caps, we can expect big things from the England captain in the future.
