Neymar’s Al-Hilal return could be dealt ‘major set-back’ following physical and medical tests

Neymar’s Return to Action Put on Hold as Physiotherapist Raises Concerns

Neymar, the Brazilian superstar, seems to be facing a significant setback in his recovery journey. The 30-year-old forward ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament while playing for Brazil in October 2023, and was expected to make a comeback this month.

However, a physiotherapist with over 200,000 followers has raised concerns about Neymar’s progress, suggesting that he may not be as far along in his recovery as initially thought. Taking to his social media page, the physio, @ithamer_7, shared his observations and analysis of Neymar’s recent training exercises.

Posting a video of Neymar performing a high jump, @ithamer_7 highlighted several areas of concern, including poor stability, weakness in knee descent, and a lack of confidence. He also pointed out that Neymar was holding back, showing fear of going down, which raises questions about his ability to pass the return tests and reach the highest level.

"Neymar needs to develop speed and stability to complete his rehabilitation," said @ithamer_7. "He may have to continue preparing until reaching the highest level. There’s no rush, let him get it right first."

Neymar recently joined Al Hilal for a two-year contract last summer, with the club paying a whopping £86.3 million for his services. The 11-time Brazil international earns approximately £2.65 million a week, making him one of the highest-paid players in the world. Despite this, his rehabilitation process seems to be longer than expected.

It remains to be seen when Neymar will make his much-anticipated return to the pitch. Fans of Al Hilal and Brazil supporters alike will be eagerly watching his progress, hoping he can regain his top form and make a significant impact for his club and country.
