Cristiano Ronaldo 900: Real Madrid and another of his former clubs pay tribute, but not Manchester United

Cristiano Ronaldo: The God of Football, Reaches 900-Goal Milestone

Divine player, divine statistics! Portugal’s international legend, Cristiano Ronaldo, has achieved a remarkable feat that will forever etch his name in the annals of football history. At 39, he’s still shattering records like a hot knife through butter!

Last night, in the Nations League, Ronaldo took his goalscoring tally to a staggering 900. His incredible career spanning over two decades, marked by jaw-dropping highlights, hat-tricks galore, and, dare we say, an obsession with surpassing the benchmark set by his contemporaries.

And, predictably, social media was aflutter as his former clubs, Real Madrid and Sporting Lisbon, paid tribute to the legend. "Congratulations, dear and admired @Cristiano! Real Madrid and the club’s fans are always proud of you." – the tweet from the Spanish giants read.

Real Madrid’s tribute was joined by that from Sporting CP, Ronaldo’s boyhood club, in a rare display of cordiality between former footballing enemies. CR900, they captioned an image showcasing his humble beginnings.

In a bizarre silence, however, Manchester United, one of the few clubs where Ronaldo had a stint between 2003-2009 and 2021-2022, seemed to choose to ignore his achievement on their social media platforms.

Could this lack of enthusiasm be due to the less-than-pleasant ending of his second United stint, where he spoke out against manager Erik ten Hag, leading to the termination of his contract?

On the other hand, his current club, Al Nassr, took the opportunity to celebrate this impressive milestone with a heartfelt tribute. Juve, however, were conspicuous by their absence in acknowledging the phenomenal achievement of one of the greatest goal-scorers in history.

We wouldn’t blame you for pinching yourself to ensure it’s real. But then again, this is Ronaldo we’re talking about, the Portuguese phenomenon who still has some tricks up his sleeve (or should we say, in his slippers?)!
