Just a day after Aaron Ramsdale left Arsenal to join Southampton, William Saliba has taken to social media to share his thoughts on his teammate’s departure.

Aaron Ramsdale played 59 times for Arsenal since his move from Sheffield United in August 2021. In his first full season at the Emirates, Ramsdale kept 16 clean sheets in 34 league appearances. However, despite his impressive stats, Ramsdale’s performances in big games raised concerns, leading to his departure to Southampton.

William Saliba, a French defender who joined Arsenal in 2019, took to Instagram to pay tribute to his teammate Ramsdale. Sharing a post made by Ramsdale, Saliba expressed his love for his friend and fellow Arsenal player.

Ramsdale’s Farewell to Arsenal
Ramsdale also took to Instagram to bid farewell to Arsenal fans. In his emotional post, Ramsdale thanked his teammates for "going to battle with me" and acknowledged the Gunners for being "always behind me".
"Thank you to all of my team mates for going to battle with me; we certainly gave it a good go and had some fun," Ramsdale wrote. "Finally, and most of all, thank you to the Gunners for always being behind me! I will love you forever. See you soon. Rambo."
Southampton Debut
Speaking to reporters after joining Southampton, Ramsdale expressed his excitement to be a part of the Saints’ project. He praised his new manager, Russell Martin, and acknowledged the club’s enthusiasm to grow.
"I’m absolutely delighted. The way the manager wants to play, the way he was when I spoke to him, he was just full of so much enthusiasm," Ramsdale said. "I’m looking forward to this year, just getting back to what I do best and having a big smile on my face while doing it here."
