Man Utd star suffers another massive injury blow as timeframe for return given

Man United’s Injury Woes Continue: Mason Mount Out for 4-5 Weeks

Manchester United’s injury curse has struck again, with Mason Mount set to miss the next four to five weeks due to a hamstring problem. The 25-year-old midfielder, who started both of United’s Premier League games so far this season, has been sidelined by the injury.

Mount’s statement on Instagram revealed his frustration at the setback, saying: "During the last game I picked up a minor muscle issue. I’ve had it checked and it looks like I’ll be out for a few games. Leading up to and during pre-season I worked hard to get my fitness back to where it needs to be and I felt reenergised, sharp and ready. I wanted you to hear it directly from me how frustrated I am, as I expect you are too. I will do everything possible to be back in the best shape and help the team."

This latest injury blow is a significant setback for United, who have already lost Luke Shaw and Leny Yoro to long-term injuries. Shaw, a key defender, is expected to return late next month, while Yoro, a summer signing, will be out for another three months.

Mount’s injury is a particularly bitter pill to swallow, given his promising start to the season. The English midfielder featured in just 14 Premier League games last season following his £55 million move from Chelsea, and his early form suggested he was finally finding his feet at Old Trafford.

United’s injury woes are a major concern for manager Erik ten Hag, who is already under pressure to deliver results. The Red Devils have made a disappointing start to the season, with just two points from their first two games.

What’s Next for United?

As United navigate this latest injury crisis, they’ll need to rely on their squad depth to get results. With Mount out, Ten Hag may turn to players like Scott McTominay or Fred to fill the midfield void. However, the real question is: can United’s injury-plagued squad stay competitive in the Premier League?
