Cristiano Ronaldo Hints at Retirement by 2027, Eyes Al Nassr Stay
The Portuguese superstar has dropped a bombshell, hinting that he might hang up his boots by 2027. But before you start mourning the end of an era, CR7 reassured fans that he has no intention of leaving Al Nassr anytime soon.
The 39-year-old icon has been enjoying a resurgence in Saudi Arabia, scoring 50 goals in 51 games last season, his best tally in eight years. And it’s easy to see why he’s loving life under the Arabian sun. With less intense competition and a more relaxed schedule, Ronaldo has been able to rediscover his golden touch.
But when asked about his long-term plans, Ronaldo hinted that retirement might be on the horizon. "I don’t know if I’ll finish soon or in two or three years. But, possibly, it will be at Al Nassr," he told Portuguese broadcaster Now.
Ronaldo’s current contract with Al Nassr is set to expire next summer, but it’s clear he’s not planning on rushing into a decision. "I’m very happy to play in the Saudi Pro League and I want to continue," he said.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner has been quiet on his international future, but it’s no secret that he’s struggled at the Euro 2024. However, Ronaldo insists he won’t be giving away his plans anytime soon. "When I leave the national team, I won’t tell anyone in advance and it will be a very spontaneous decision on my part, but also a very well thought-out one," he revealed.
Ronaldo’s dedication to the national team is admirable, but it’s clear his focus is now on his club career. With his sights set on the Nations League and his own YouTube channel already raking in 50 million subscribers, CR7 is looking to the future.
Interestingly, Ronaldo has ruled out becoming a coach, saying it’s not a path he sees himself taking. "At the moment, the idea of being a coach of any team does not cross my mind," he said. Instead, he’s exploring other ventures outside of football.
As CR7 continues to write his own destiny, fans can’t help but wonder what the future holds. Will he play on until 2027, or has he already started planning his post-playing career? One thing’s for sure – we’ll be keeping a close eye on this superstar’s every move.
