Shock Bid Arrives for Chelsea Transfer Target Victor Osimhen That No-One Saw Coming
A surprise new club has entered the race to sign Victor Osimhen this summer, according to reports from transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. The Napoli striker has long been linked with a move away from the Italian club, with several Premier League clubs showing interest in recent seasons.
Most recently, Osimhen has been linked with Arsenal or Chelsea, who have reportedly already agreed a deal for Romelu Lukaku to join the Italian side. However, Saudi club Al Ahli has now submitted an initial bid of over €65 million for the Nigerian international.
While there is still no agreement between Al Ahli and Osimhen himself, the Saudi Arabian club are willing to offer the striker a significant salary and a release clause in his contract. This could prove to be a major factor in Osimhen’s decision, as he weighs up his options ahead of the transfer window closing this week.
Arsenal are still said to be one of the other clubs interested in signing Osimhen, with a striker a priority signing for them this summer. Meanwhile, Chelsea are reportedly looking at several different options for deals, including Osimhen, despite already signing eight players this summer.
Osimhen’s impressive goal-scoring record with Napoli, with 76 goals in 133 appearances, is likely to have caught the eye of several clubs this summer. His pace, power, and clinical finishing ability make him a highly attractive target for any side looking to bolster their attack.
The interest in Osimhen is not limited to the Premier League, with Al Ahli also showing interest in Brentford striker Ivan Toney. However, any potential deal for Toney is said to be in the early stages, with the English striker demanding a salary of €20 million (£17 million).
