Ancelotti on Mbappé’s LaLiga goal wait: It will come

Carlo Ancelotti Shrugs Off Kylian Mbappé’s Goal Drought: "He’ll Score Goals"

Carlo Ancelotti is confident that Kylian Mbappé will get back on the goal-scoring wagon soon, despite the French superstar’s struggles in front of goal. The Real Madrid boss substituted Mbappé in their 3-0 win over Real Valladolid on Sunday, a result that extended Mbappé’s goalless run to two LaLiga games.

But Ancelotti isn’t concerned about Mbappé’s form, stating that the 24-year-old’s "spectacular" attributes make him a threat regardless of where he plays on the pitch. "He had three chances," Ancelotti said. "I think in that position he’ll score, as he’s always scored. I don’t think he has to play on the left or the right. He’ll score goals."

Ancelotti also praised young forward Endrick, who scored his first goal for Madrid in the 96th minute. "He looks good," Ancelotti said. "He has great potential, and with the goal, he showed all his qualities. He has good control, and a good shot."

With midfielders Jude Bellingham and Eduardo Camavinga sidelined through injury, and Ferland Mendy suspended, Ancelotti’s side have navigated the early stages of the season relatively comfortably. Madrid’s win over Valladolid was their second consecutive shutout in LaLiga, following a 1-1 draw away at Real Mallorca on the opening weekend.

Next up for Ancelotti’s side is a trip to Las Palmas on Thursday, followed by a showdown with Real Betis at the Bernabéu next weekend. Follow us on all social media platforms for more updates and expert analysis on the biggest games and stories in the world of football.
