Chelsea Player Slammed by Fans Despite 6-2 Win Over Wolves
Despite Chelsea’s dominant 6-2 victory over Wolves, one player has been left feeling the heat from the Blues’ faithful. Mykhailo Mudryk, the Ukrainian winger, failed to get on the scoresheet and was subjected to criticism from fans on social media.
The 22-year-old was a key signing for Chelsea in the summer, but his performance against Wolves has left many questioning his role in the team. On Twitter, one fan wrote: "Yh Mudryk, your time is up." Another added: "Mudryk needs to dip though he’s ruining the vibes." A third said: "Everyone in the attack ate bar Mudryk… his departure can’t come soon enough."
But it’s not all doom and gloom for Mudryk. His teammate, Noni Madueke, scored an impressive hat-trick in the win and praised Mudryk’s contribution to the team. "He is cold and I am fire so it mixes well," Madueke said. "He has the ability to always play a pass at the right time. I like to get the ball in space, beat people and make things happen, so luckily today it worked."
Madueke also apologized for a pre-match social media post in which he criticized the city of Wolverhampton. "I just want to apologize to anyone I might have offended," he said. "It was a human mistake, an accident. It wasn’t meant to be out on my socials. I’m sure Wolverhampton is a lovely town, I’m just sorry. In terms of the boos, I expected it. But you have to learn under that type of pressure."
The win was Chelsea’s first of the 2024/25 season, and it was a much-needed boost for the team. They face a tough run of fixtures coming up, including matches against Manchester City and Liverpool. But for now, they can take confidence from their dominant display against Wolves.
