Tottenham Gifted Second Goal vs Everton After Nightmare Jordan Pickford Error
It was a disastrous day for Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford as Tottenham Hotspur took advantage of his nightmare mistake to score their second goal in their Premier League clash at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Pickford’s error came on 25 minutes, when a throw-in from young debutant Roman Dixon went backwards to Michael Keane, who decided to pass it back to the England goalkeeper. However, Pickford took a heavy touch, allowing Son Heung-min to close him down and win the ball back. The South Korean forward then tapped it into the empty net to score his first goal of the season.
The goal was a gift to Tottenham, who were already leading 1-0 at the time thanks to Yves Bissouma’s opener in the 14th minute. It was a dream start for the hosts, who were looking to avenge last weekend’s 3-0 home defeat to Brighton, which saw them finish with 10 players.
For Everton, it was a disappointing performance that left them struggling to get going against a strong Tottenham side. They finished the first half with just one shot on target, and things only got worse after Pickford’s mistake.
The result was a well-deserved 2-0 win for Tottenham, who moved up to fifth place in the Premier League table. For Everton, it was a tough defeat that left them stuck in the relegation zone.
