Man Utd fans lose it with one player after conceding last minute winner against Brighton

Manchester United Fiasco: Fans Unloads on Diogo Dalot After Brighton Loss

There’s no doubt that Manchester United supporters are still reeling from that gut-wrenching loss against Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday. Conceding a last-minute winner in the 95th minute is never easy to swallow, but it’s the performance of certain players that’s really piquing fans’ fury.

One player in particular took the brunt of the wrath: Diogo Dalot. The Portuguese defender was shown to be out of position during the lead-up to Joao Pedro’s strike, leaving the Brazilian completely open and unmarked in the box.

"The buildup to the goal showed for all to see Dalot being out of position. Again!" @MartienBall_ tweeted. "It’s not the first time it’s happened, and it’s really concerning. The lad [Dalot] has potential but his concentration levels are woeful"

@Regista_Call echoed the sentiment: "Dalot at the backpost AGAIN… man, I have an axe to grind with him, doesn’t matter if he’s [playing] RB or left-back"

The numbers can’t lie, either. Dalot has been at the center of defensive collapses before, and it seemed like a similar pattern played out against Brighton. United’s attack should have been enough to seal the win, considering they dominated possession and created plentiful chances.

"The way those three players got left unmarked on the back post was an exercise in defensive ineptitude." added @utd_jtweetz
"I understand it’s not exactly a straightforward goal to concede, but Dalot doesn’t even give the impression of trying to block the shot It’s a shame because I used to rate him, not anymore"

With this heavy defeat, Manchester United will take some time to regroup, but the performance against Brighton will undoubtedly be a hot topic for years to come. Will Ole Gunnar Solskjaer make some key changes to reinvigorate the squad for future matches?
